The early colonists brought the principles of quilting with them from England. Because fabric was so scarce, women began "piecing" their quilt tops with leftover pieces of fabric. By the early 1800's, these had evolved into the "block" form that is so beautifully done in our Country Garden Patch quilt. Warm, rustic shades of red, green, and gold prints and solids. Beautiful in its simplicity, this design is finished with large prairie points, in fabrics from quilt, and hand attached binding. Diagonal rows of hand quilting generously cover each piece. The reverse is in the delicate fabric; green with red flowers. 100% cotton ~ machine washable. |

Country Patch Quilt
Our simple traditional quilt begins in the center with pale to deep golden pieces and radiates out to shades of ginger, cinnamon and a deep sage in a wonderful blend of solid and print fabrics. It is finished with a saw-tooth edge and a hand-attached binding. The reverse is done in a coordinating sage, wheat and cinnamon paisley print. The hand quilting adds richness and depth.

"Homespun" Blankets
"Homespun" ~ Today, a very broad term widely misused. Originally meaning
an undyed woolen yarn spun at home and woven at home. Yarn is coarse, rugged and
uneven; woven as a plain weave only. Most often woven as a solid, stripe or simple
check used by peasants and country folk.

Rich reds. Featuring a brick honeycomb coverlet; a neutral linen Angstadt #5 coverlet fits nicely at the foot of the bed. Euro stripe cases in the shorter 31" length head the bed and are almost ensconced in a variety of brick and linen accessory pillows. The windows are dressed too with colonial festoon curtains made from the Angstadt #5 pattern. |

Warm and inviting browns. An interesting mix - shades of browns, creams and whites. The Seine cloth and Tobacco cloth bed skirting is absolutely beautiful. Topping it off with a Seine cloth skinny canopy is just perfect. Brown/linen festoons are hanging on the windows. Just to mention: Homestead sheets lay the ground work. A 50/50 blanket in brown/linen makes it debut. Topping it off is a Honeycomb coverlet in brown. At the foot of the bed is the Anstadt #5 in brown/linen. Accessory pillows both unify and balance this bedding collection. |

Euro stripe cases in 46" length in blue head the bed, followed by accessory pillows made from the homestead sheet, 50/50 pillows in blue/linen and a Grid #4 pillow in brick/linen. Homestead sheets are the foundation of this dressing and are very soft and woven with 100% cotton yarn. The first blanket layer is Stripe #8 in brick/linen, second is Stripe #7 in blue/linen. To warm things up, Sea Star & Jewel coverlet in blue/linen also really defines the blue/linen bed set up. Just as an extra precaution to keep feet warm we added a double layer of Grid #4 in brick/linen followed by Grid #3 in blue/linen. |

Tie-Up Tobacco Cloth Panel
100% cotton
Tab on bottom of panel for left or right tie up. Tobacco cloth is a lightweight, thin loosely woven fabric with cotton in plain weave similar to cheesecloth. Used as shade covering for tobacco plants, crinoline, tea bags, bandages and curtains etc... Tobacco cloth is a very old fabric with a lot of whimsy. Try hanging cloth on a piece of jute instead of a rod. A great primitive look!
May choose to hang as is or SOAK in cold water 20 minutes, SQUEEZE out excess, LINE dry. Fabric will crinkle slightly, and have a soft, worn look- very primitive.

Choose to hang upon arrival or wash prior to hanging for shrinkage and stabilizing yarns. Please note sizes listed are loom state. Product will shrink with soak and dry process. Cotton/acrylic, mach SOAK warm, spin, hang dry. Great window treatment, bed hanging or bed skirting. Seine cloth is an extremely early fabric dating back prior to 1500 and originating in the Mediterranean. Early pieces would have been hand knotted. The woven version began in the later 1800s with the use of the leno. This particular netting was used primarily as a tool for fishing and gathering, though peasant folk found many uses for it. Netting was used in a variety of ways, from a protective material to gathering to filtering. Seine cloth drapes beautifully. This curtain can be drawn up on either side 1, 2 or 3 times. There are 3 tabs that run along the top and 3 tabs that run along each side. You can also choose to hang as a panel. There are many varieties of netting with varying opening sizes and shapes. Netting has been used for centuries as a light filter on widows. |

Due to the nature of this fabric it is best to
"finish out" the fabric prior to hanging.
This can be achieved by soaking in warm water, spinning out and hanging to dry. This will help stabilize the "walking" of the fibers. The
fabric is made of cotton/acyrlic and is machine soak warm, spin and hang dry. |

For my master bath at home I finally have a shower curtain that I love!
I used the solid linen buttonhole shower curtain and hung it on the same rod as the shower liner using the plastic hooks. I then hung a Mock Mice II Valance on a tension rod in front of the curtain. |

Finally a shower curtain that is long enough to cover the whole side of the bathtub. I hate shower curtains that end 3-4" above the floor! |
